Kjell Braaten Unveils Pine, the Second Single from His Upcoming Album FLOK

Acclaimed musician and composer Kjell Braaten, known for his work with projects like Wardruna and contributions to the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla, is set to release Pine – Gran, the second single from his forthcoming album FLOK.

Pine is a poetic and evocative song that portrays the pine tree through both a mythic lens and the innocent eyes of a child seeking solace beneath its branches. The song is performed on ancient instruments such as the Sutton Hoo Lyre and Organistrum, lending it a timeless, earthy atmosphere.

The lyrics were originally written by Tove Hassel, with an English adaptation by Carina Dulea, ensuring that both the story and poetic quality remain intact. Kjell Braaten composed, performed, recorded, mixed, produced, and mastered the Music. The cover image was created by Kjell Braaten, and edited by Fatima Ackerson, and the grafics is done by Fatima Ackerson.

The song’s foundation is built on the Sutton Hoo Lyre, a historical instrument dating back to the 600s, strung with horsehair to create an organic, resonant tone. It is accompanied by the Organistrum, bass guitar, and a drum set, blending ancient textures with modern folk elements.
